Strict Compliance with International Dangerous Goods Transport Standards to Ensure Packaging Safety
Sodium hydroxide (UN No. 1823) is classified as a Class 8 corrosive dangerous substance, and its packaging and transport must strictly comply with the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code and other relevant regulations. The product is packaged in 13H4/Y‑type flexible intermediate bulk containers (i.e., coated FIBCs with inner liners). These containers have passed the UN performance tests for dangerous goods packaging and bear the UN certification mark, with clear markings such as CN/C0202/4400/1206 indicating the production batch and container approval information. The maximum gross weight is 2444 kg, fully meeting the packaging requirements for the maritime transport of dangerous goods.During the loading process, our company strictly followed the operating procedures for dangerous chemicals. Each ton bag was palletised and stretch‑wrapped to standard specifications. Palletising effectively enhances the stability of the cargo inside the container, preventing package damage or load shifting caused by jolting or improper stacking during transit. Stretch‑wrapping further reinforces the integrity and moisture‑proof performance of the palletised units, ensuring that the sodium hydroxide remains sealed, dry, and stable throughout the long sea voyage. All loading personnel wore appropriate protective equipment, strictly observed safety protocols, and ensured that all handling operations were conducted safely.
