NGEx Minerals Expands High-Grade Zones at Lunahuasi Copper-Gold-Silver Project in Northern Argentina

NGEx Minerals has reported expanded mineralization at both the high-grade Jupiter and Saturn zones within its Lunahuasi copper-gold-silver project in northern Argentina, according to a Bloomberg report cited by Mining.com.

At the Jupiter zone, hole DPDH077 intersected 10 metres at 0.88% copper, 3.14 g/t gold and 12.2 g/t silver from 89 metres depth, including a 7.6-metre section grading 18.84% copper, 5.54 g/t gold and 336.7 g/t silver.

Company CEO Wojtek Wodzicki commented that the results from DPDH077 confirm Jupiter as a zone that cannot be overlooked, noting that it was the first body encountered by the discovery hole at Lunahuasi.

While Jupiter has seen fewer drill holes compared to the Saturn and Mars targets, Wodzicki added that mineralization encountered across a 400-metre by 500-metre area points to the potential of this main zone.

Recent assay results continue to reinforce Lunahuasi’s standing as one of the world’s highest-grade copper-gold-silver discoveries. Drilling is ongoing with the aim of expanding and connecting mineralized zones to enhance resource potential.

The mineralization at Jupiter indicates significant potential and has been designated a priority target for the planned fifth phase. The company has not specified a start date for this phase.

At the Saturn zone, hole DPDH069 intersected 13 metres at 1.07% copper, 1.31 g/t gold and 37.6 g/t silver from 437 metres depth.

Hole DPDH072 intersected 34 metres at 1.43% copper, 1.8 g/t gold and 40.2 g/t silver from 193 metres depth, including a 6-metre section grading 3.75% copper, 4.82 g/t gold and 93.1 g/t silver.

NGEx stated that the intersection from this hole may indicate a new zone east of Saturn. Saturn is interpreted as a large structurally controlled disseminated and stockwork body cut by high- to very high-grade veins.

These results are from the fourth-phase drilling program at Lunahuasi, which comprised 32 holes totalling 27,318 metres.

NGEx Minerals is a Canadian-listed exploration and development company focused on high-grade copper-gold resources in South America.

Lunahuasi, formerly known as Potro Cliffs, is located approximately 1,300 kilometres northwest of Buenos Aires. It is regarded as one of the highest-grade and largest copper-gold-silver discoveries globally in recent years. The project remains in the exploration stage, with NGEx having initiated drilling in early 2023.
