New Gold Resources Discovered at Four Mining Districts in Saudi Arabia, Totalling Over 7.8 Million Ounces!

Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma’aden) has announced the addition of over 7.8 million ounces (approximately 242.6 tonnes) of gold resources from four major mining districts within Saudi Arabia. These districts include currently operating mines, early-stage exploration areas, and newly discovered prospects, all located within the Kingdom.

This achievement results from the advancement of drilling programs and exploration activities — these efforts initially outlined over 9 million ounces of new resources, which were subsequently adjusted to 7.8 million ounces based on annual factors such as cost estimates and prices.

In its statement, the company noted that targeted drilling programs delivered substantial resource growth across the four major districts:

Among them, the Mansourah-Massarah mine contributed a net annual increase of 3.0 million ounces of gold resources; the Uruk 20/21 and Umm Al-Sarim areas together added 1.67 million ounces; and the Wadi Al-Jaw mine contributed 3.08 million ounces of initial gold resources (this being the first discovery of gold resources in this area).

The statement pointed out that these results demonstrate Ma’aden’s efficiency and execution capability in building a premier gold resource inventory in Saudi Arabia.

“Our exploration program — the largest single-region exploration program of its kind globally — has now delivered tangible results. Through four strategic resource sources, Saudi Arabia’s announced gold resources have increased by over 7 million ounces (actually 7.8 million ounces).”
